First Look Tonight: KBMOD Ventures Into The Long Dark
Tonight we are doing a First Look at the survival sim, The Long Dark. This game is one of the many survival games that have come out since the DayZ blowup a few years ago.
The Long Dark has a different take on the genre with no zombies or other players to worry about, just the brutal elements of the north. You must survive with whatever you can find, a bit like the beginning of a Minecraft survival map. Make sure you have firewood stocked for the fire or you could freeze to death. Don’t fall and break an ankle or you may never make it back. There is an imposing calorie meter that shows just how much energy your body has left before it gives out.
Take a look at the trailer above and if you think the game might be for you, check it out on Steam. There is a story mode being added eventually, although only the sandbox mode is available now.
