Triad Wars: Open World MMO Sleeping Dogs
The devil really is in the details, especially when it comes to ill-worded game descriptions. Triad Wars was vaguely announced Sunday as an Online only PC title and spiritual succesor to Sleeping Dogs. What this meant at the time, no one knew. We weren’t all that excited on the podcast for this, especially as it sounded like it could be a sort of half-assed use of the Sleeping Dogs IP.
Now that we have details, we will gladly place foot in mouth. Triad Wars has now been detailed and we like what we see here at KBMOD. The trailer above goes over what you’ll be doing in this persistent online world. You will be taking the reigns of your own gang and fighting for territory in an open, sandbox version of Hong Kong. Your gang can specialize in varying types of crime so it sounds like you might be able to ally for certain access to smuggling warehouses or illegal guns or even counterfeit currency.
The closed beta begins soon and the game is expected to release in early 2015. Sign up for the closed beta here.
