>Witcher 2 Releases Patch, Gets DRM Right for Once

>The Witcher was one of the best games I’ve played. An open-ended rpg with consequences for every action. And sex cards. No really, sex cards. The game was rich with story and the graphics were great, beautiful to look at. I am interested in Witcher 2, but my time for RPGs is limited. That said. Buy this game if you at all enjoy RPGs. It will be very good.

Today they released a patch with a couple big changes for Witcher 2, it removed the DRM which is almost always a positive. Their reasoning for having DRM in the first place was one of the very first uses of DRM that made sense. They wanted to prevent leaks and playing before release. Now, a week after the game comes out they remove it. That’s how it should be done by any gaming company if you are going to use DRM. The patch also improves frame rate quite a bit, in what I’m sure is a graphic intensive game. Good stuff all around.
Take lessons other studios.
