>Realm of the Mad God, Crazy Ass Free to Play MMO

>Realm of the Mad God is like what Diablo would have been on regular NES. Graphically it is pixelated and awesome because of it. You hack and slash to find items with thousands of other players. There is a central hub where you can barter for gold or get items free to power up your character. All kind of standard stuff.

I said this was free-to-play, and it is, but kind of like Team Fortress’s store, you can buy in-game items for real money. This seems like a shortcut due to the fact that free stuff SHOULD be everywhere. You can only hold 8 items at a time! There are a few other tricks this game has up it’s sleeve. The quest system points you to boss type creatures, and eventually after enough quests you may face the Mad God himself. That’s kind of the end all of the game. I don’t know if you can farm him or anything at that point, but probably, due to the nature of most other MMOs.
It isn’t just that easy though, because when you die in ROTMG, YOU DIE FOR REAL. Okay, not really, but if you die, you are dead. Gone. New character, time to start over. I quit Diablo II because of a hardcore death to lag on my level 85 druid. I don’t know if I can handle this again, but I still might give Realm of the Mad God a try.
