First Look: FenixRage
FenixRage is one of the many games I tried out at PAX but it definitely stood out on the show floor with an awesome art style. Made by Green Lava Studios, the game clearly takes a big queue from Super Meatboy, I Wanna Be The Guy and other brutal platformers.
There are some major mechanical differences from those titles. The player can fly around the map by continually by hitting the jump button. There is also a dedicated dash button which can be used to jet yourself over gaps, in and out of tight spots, through walls and other obstacles. There are over 9 worlds, 200 levels to explore and a ton of death. The speedrunning and challenge run possibilities are tantalizing.
In the video above we take a look at the game and get to listen to the absolutely excellent soundtrack (which we hope will be up for sale as well)! FenixRage will be out on September 24th for $14.99. You can also check out a trailer below for a shorter look:
