KBMOD Podcast – Episode 270

This week’s cast is powered by the impressive new Twitch Desktop App to bring you food-related feuds and high-quality gaming discussion. In the news this week, Microsoft disables Windows 7 and 8.1 updates on PCs with new Ryzen and Kaby Lake processors, and For Honor players rail against the game’s outrageously expensive cosmetic items. In the quick hits, select PS4 games will soon be playable on PC via Sony’s PS Now streaming service, Pokémon Red gets painstakingly recreated from the ground up in Minecraft, rumors swirl about a possible remastered version of StarCraft, almost a quarter of Overwatch players run on integrated graphics, Overwatch’s Lucio is about to get nerfed, and development on the maybe-not-so-highly-anticipated game Smite Rivals has been halted.

New releases this week include the newest chapter of the Mass Effect saga, PLAYERUNKNOWN’S BATTLEGROUNDS (coming out on Early Access), and a remaster of a couple of Nintendo DS visual novels for Steam.

Our viewer questions delve into the proper time to introduce one’s extraordinary verticality, a truly difficult choice about eliminating a specific food from our lives, and some helpful PC building advice for a new father.

Brandon started his PC gaming days playing Doom II (IDDQD/IDKFA for life) and has been hooked on online gaming since the original Starsiege: Tribes. The way to his heart is through proper grammar, corn dogs, and cookie cake.
