Ruiner Review | A Brutal Cyberpunk Shooter
Cyberpunk is a genre that has always fascinated me, and its easily one of my favorite genres when it comes to video games. There is just something so intriguing about technological advancement at the cost of the general populous. Not only that, but I just tend to love anything that has a futuristic twist to it. It makes for some very intricate designs, and beautiful art. Sadly, there isn’t as many cyberpunk games as I would like there to be, but the release of Ruiner makes me hopeful this will change.
This brutal isometric shooter created by Reikon Games and published by Devolver Digital is something I had my eyes on ever since its trailer at E3. All it took was the sound of Sidewalks and Skeletons’ “Sleep Paralysis” coupled with some fast paced action and ominous wording to hook me. Now that it’s finally out, doing a video review was a bit of a no-brainer. I had a fun time with Ruiner, but I’d be lying if I said that it didn’t leave more to be desired.
