KBMOD Podcast – Episode 299

As our 300th episode draws near, we try to figure out whether YingityYang really did intentionally avoid Brandon all throughout TwitchCon. In the news, BlizzCon brings announcements about StarCraft II going free-to-play, WoW getting a new expansion and official vanilla servers, Hearthstone’s new expansion on the way, and so much more. In sadder news, we also discuss layoffs at Motiga and the sudden closure of Runic Games. In the quick hits, the CIA discovers that Osama Bin Laden was a weeb, PUBG will come out of Early Access in “late December,” and PlayStation trophies can now get you a little bit of store credit.

In the viewer questions, we discuss which video games (past or present) we wish could have a massive esports scene, and we give our thoughts about how games can strike the right balance between accessibility and competitiveness.

Remember that you can catch the podcast live every Sunday night at 10pm ET on twitch.tv/kbmod. If you enjoy the podcast, please leave us a review on iTunes!

Brandon started his PC gaming days playing Doom II (IDDQD/IDKFA for life) and has been hooked on online gaming since the original Starsiege: Tribes. The way to his heart is through proper grammar, corn dogs, and cookie cake.
