The original Deus Ex is one of the great FPS games of all time. Our own John was one of the best Deus Ex multiplayer combatants of all time. No seriously, he was. The game contained many elements from RPGs as well as stealth in parts, something that really wasn’t widespread at the time. Now, it’s graphics look dated, as they would for a game 10+ years old.
Thanks to the wonderful world of PC gaming, someone has put out a texture mod for the old game. It only modifies textures of the walls and floors, not objects, so generally the game will have the same look. They remastered 95% of the surfaces in the game with “HD” textures.
I believe Deus Ex is free from some outlets and very cheap from Steam. Check it out for a taste of the old school with some new school graphics.
