>Killstreaks Can Save Lives Too
>ABC news reported yesterday that a remote-controlled truck sent to Staff Sgt. Christopher Fessenden by his brother Ernie saved the lives of six fellow soldiers when it triggered a road-side bomb during a routine patrol. In 2007 Ernie Fessenden, a software-engineer, enlisted the help of Kevin Guy, the owner of Everything Hobby shop in Rochester Minn., to rig a video camera to the toy truck and ship it his his brother stationed in Afghanistan. Staff Sgt. Fessenden, who had been using the truck to patrol in front of his Humvee ever since, lent the miniature vehicle to a group of fellow soldiers where it eventually detonated a trip wire attached to 500 lbs. of explosives, more than likely saving their lives.
