>Tribes: Ascend is hands-on at Quakecon. Our boys, John and Brandon are down there. Brandon is a veteran Tribes player and said, so far he likes what he’s seeing. It feels a lot like the original game, that is exactly what everyone wants. He might be able to throw an edit on this post or in the comments with some more insight.
For those of you who don’t know this series, think Halo crossed with Quake. Extreme speed and movement, twitch shooting, big jumps, vehicles, generally a fast-paced good time. This version will also be free to play.
Brandon voiced concerns last night over how the game will be monetized (whether through a Tf2 model or something else). This is a legit concern as you don’t want to cut people out of certain aspects just cause they don’t pay, or give a huge advantage to paying. other than that, he’s damn impressed.
