>EA’s Origin to add third-party titles in November

Share

>In news that should shock absolutely no one, EA has announced that Origin will soon be adding PC titles from third-party publishers, such as Warner Bros. Interactive, THQ, and Capcom.  This partnership will include upcoming games like Batman: Arkham City and Saints Row: The Third.

This is EA’s first real move to begin trying to cut away at Steam’s dominant market share in the digital distribution space.  Given the choice, would any of you actually choose to use Origin over Steam for buying games?

    >So much for they're not trying to compete with Steam. Still not surprising.

  • dominick

    >if origin is cheaper, hell yes i will buy from them. Competition is a good thing. This will force steam's prices to go even lower.

  • derp

    >this is much better then expected, with competition comes lower pricing

    >Gabe Newell will respond appropriately.

    >No, absolutely not, even if Origin was better than steam i still wouldn't but as it is, EA's product is exponentially worse than Steam and I like Valve more than EA so……..ya. Fuck off EA if your reading this, and put BF3 on steam, ill buy it again just to get rid of this shit program.
