Modern Warfare 3 vs. Battlefield 3: the difference is in the PC
Fast forward to the PC release:
I loaded the game up. I came. It was gorgeous. The controls were tight. The lighting was like nothing I have ever seen. They have textures on the river/ocean floors. That’s pretty absurd stuff right there. The scale of Battlefield is what truly makes it a great franchise. You cannot compete with the PC version of BF. Console gamers can argue all they want. You’re wrong. I’m right.
Now – onto MW3:
Modern Warfare 2 was a better game on console than it was on PC. I’m a PC gamer. Always have been, always will be. However, I played MW2 on console because I love(d) the CoD franchise and the experience on PC was mind-numbingly bad. Activision, unlike Dice, takes the easy way out of things. Go for the money and not customer satisfaction. (No dedicated servers on a PC game? Really?) The CoD franchise remains stagnant through each release. It’s new textures placed together offering the same exact gameplay as the previous release. Sure – new perks change things up a bit for a while. Eventually, though, it becomes the same game you were playing a year prior, just reskinned. The community has become infested with incessant complaining about balance issues and such. It takes forever to have these issues addressed, and I’ve lost my love for the franchise. Will I play it? Sure. Am I looking forward to it? Not really.
lolopinions.
