0>EA and Steam Continue Bickering
EA has come out and once again blamed Steam for it’s removal of Dragon Age II from Steam. Apparently, Steam changed it’s terms of service to be very restrictive to publishers and EA isn’t liking this. Or it just wants Origin to succeed. Either way, we lose.
EA has introduced a small twist to the situation. They say “we offer our games and content to all major download services including GameStop, Amazon, Direct2Drive and Steam.” This gives hope that we were wrong and they won’t pull everything from Steam. This would be a step in the right direction, but still hurts the consumer more than either company. Steam users still can’t pre-order Battlefield 3, and the companies show no signs of an agreement in the works.
EA, Steam, lets be big boys about this and get something done. Steam is actually losing more face as a result of EA saying things like: “We hope to work out an agreement to keep our games on Steam.” Valve has released basically nothing on the matter. the silence is deafening, leading me to believe they are really are at fault. You’d think if they weren’t they would have released a presser of some type.
Let’s hope this seeking of a resolution is true and the pissing match can end with all of us having the best of both worlds. Steam, loosen up a little please? EA, quit being a brat about this?
Thanks, bros.
