Game Developers Choice Awards Nominees
Just when you thought there weren’t anymore Best of 2011 awards out, another springs up.
The Game Developers Choice Awards are probably the one that most developers really want to win. Peers selecting your work as the best has to feel good. The winners are to be announced in March at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This list of nominees includes some unknowns, as you’d expect when the guys making the games are judging their own. There are definitely some off the beaten path titles here (as with Gamasutra). However, the big guns still shine through with Skyrim and Portal 2 getting numerous nominations. Both games have characteristics that would impress developers. Check out the full nominee list below (console and PC are lumped into one). Not surprisingly, Modern Warfare 3 is absent:
