Game Developers Choice Awards Nominees

Just when you thought there weren’t anymore Best of 2011 awards out, another springs up.

The Game Developers Choice Awards are probably the one that most developers really want to win. Peers selecting your work as the best has to feel good. The winners are to be announced in March at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. This list of nominees includes some unknowns, as you’d expect when the guys making the games are judging their own.  There are definitely some off the beaten path titles here (as with Gamasutra).  However, the big guns still shine through with Skyrim and Portal 2 getting numerous nominations. 1. Not sure why Skyrim has been nominated for Best Technology. The Creation Engine is just a tweaked Gamebryo, and the AI is still pretty bad.

The engine has been lauded throughout the industry for the quest generation tweaks they made. it is pretty amazing.
