0The KBMOD Uplink: Friday, January 25, 2013
Someone queue up that awesome “Friday” song. The weekend is here and with it comes a new edition of the Uplink and this also happens to be KBMOD Game Night (details here). There are a lot of links today but after checking out the news of the day, come game with us!
Without further ado, here is the news:
-If you follow me on Twitter, you know that I am really looking forward to CD Projekt RED’s new game Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately we will probably have to wait until 2015 for the finished product, but in the meantime there will be plenty of hype surrounding the game; including this interview with The Verge conducted with lead designer Marcin Janiszewski.
-There has been much buzz the past few weeks over the DayZ standalone as Dean “Rocket” Hall and company are seemingly ramping things up over at Bohemia. Rocket himself posted some new (and impressive) screenshots on the DayZ Tumblr today. He also discussed numerous game play changes including deep character customization. This is clearly just a mechanic to get you even more attached to your character before some bandit or zombie unceremoniously takes you out.
-One of the best games of 2012, Hotline Miami now has its excellent soundtrack for download on Steam and to top it off, the game is 50% off.
-PC Gamer goes hands-on with our most anticipated game of 2013, SimCity. They dive in for five hours and bring you a full preview of the game, which is currently in closed beta.
-DmC Devil May Cry, the reboot of the series of the same name, was released for PC today and by many accounts is damn good. The PC version of the game is well worth it according to Penny Arcade. You can also read Ben Kuchera’s review of the game there.
That’s it for today. Keep tuned into KBMOD for a guest article tomorrow and our streams on Sunday including the podcast with YouTuber EatMyDiction1!
