>First Gameplay Footage from Tribes: Ascend

IGN has just posted a teaser video with the first gameplay footage we’ve seen for Hi-Rez Studios’ upcoming title, Tribes: Ascend. Tribes: Ascend is slated to release this fall, and the trailer indicates that the game will be completely free to play.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Tribes series, the premise is essentially space-age capture the flag with weapons and jetpacks. This series holds a special place in my heart, since Starsiege: Tribes was the first game I ever played online and is what got me hooked on online PC gaming. I played Tribes for years, and it is, in my opinion, one of the best multiplayer games ever made.
While Tribes: Ascend probably won’t be released to much fanfare compared to Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3, this game is one of my most anticipated releases this year. Check out the video below:
