>Dead Island DLC pushed back
It’s no secret that the PC version of Dead Island was a disaster on release day. A multitude of bugs and glitches plagued the game, rendering it totally unplayable for some. A day or so after this debacle, developer Techland issued a statement explaining that the wrong build of the game had been released on Steam.
If you pre-ordered Dead Island you were given a DLC code for content that was supposed to be released later this month. However, as a result of the extensive problems and heavy patching that Techland has been doing to get the game to a stable point, the DLC release has been pushed back to an undisclosed date.
A spokesman for Techland explains:
“Right now the Dead Island development team’s priority is working on fixes and updates across all platforms so that we can take care of all of the fans who have been so supportive of our game. There is some awesome DLC content planned for Dead Island, but first we have to put all our focus on the base game experience.”
This is no doubt a wise decision. Despite Dead Island’s many technical problems, the title has still been very well received by the media and gaming community at large. Further work ensuring that the Dead Island experience is a good one for current players and future purchasers will help build trust with a community that is used to constantly getting burned.
