What’s up guys! My name is Nick, and you might have seen me around here lately. I guess I’m a new contributor on this KBMOD thing, and hopefully I can be for a long time. Anywho, I’m here to show you guys my PC gaming setup. It’s nothing fancy, but it does what I need it to do.
My current rig gets the job done, but I am planning on upgrading my GPU to a GTX 570 within the next 2 weeks. I also plan on upgrading my RAM in the near future. I can play most games on medium-ish settings relatively no problems, although my processors does leave a little something to be desired.
Overall I’m pretty happy with my computer, considering I haven’t put much money into it. One of the ways I saved myself a lot of money was using parts from other computers, or getting parts from friends and family. I spent no money on the displays, hard drive, case, or RAM.As of late, I’ve been playing Call of Duty 4, Darksiders, and CS:S on my rig.
Note: you will never see the inside of this, because the wiring is LOL.
In my next build, I will likely go full-out and into the high-end market. I would probably put this build in a lower end category. I’m happy with what I’ve got, but there is clearly some room for improvements.
My Current Specs
Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 974 BE
Motherboard: MSI 870A-G54
GPU: EVGA GTS 450
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 6GB DDR3 1600
PSU: Diablotek 600W
Heatsink: Hyper 212+
HDD: Hitachi 750 GB @ 7200 RPM & External Seagate 500GB
Displays: Hanns-G 17″ (Left), Dell 21.5″ (Right)
Headset: Plantronics GameCom 377
Microphone: Blue Snowball
Case Fans: Rocketfish 80mm
I’ve got no clue what case I’m using besides the face that it’s an older Alienware. This is extremely important because it makes my computer run at least ten times faster, just because it’s Alienware.
Please don’t bash me too hard for having a semi-crappy setup. I love you.-Nick (@Mr_NFEN)
