Killing Floor 2 Dev Diary Details Weapons and Perks
To say we are highly anticipating Killing Floor 2 is an understatement. Some of the KBMOD staff have said it is their most anticipated game of 2015, despite some stiff competition in a loaded year for PC gaming.
Several dev diaries have already been posted by the Tripwire team, but this one has some really special details regarding weapon types, behavior and class perks. The weapons in Killing Floor 2 have been animated at extremely high frame rates, instead of the standard 30 fps. This gives each gun extremely realistic behavior. You can see barrels flex, sights shake, clips rattle and more details that would be impossible at standard frame rates. The reload animations even change as you progress through perks. Tripwire motion captured an elite firearms specialist just for reload animations.
Speaking of perks, these were a bit of a sore spot in the original Killing Floor. They’ve addressed the extremely slow leveling process from the first game by adding more levels, and faster progression through each class. Classes also start with unique weapons, not just a pistol.
Currently, there is no set release date for Killing Floor 2, but it should be coming in 2015 to Steam.
